Matthew is a qualified professional photographer and a Member of the Society of Architectural Illustration, with over 20 years of experience. He specialises in Landscape, Architectural, Commercial & Travel photography.  He first became interested in photography at the age of seven, when he inherited an old, fully manual medium format camera from his Grandpa. Since then, he has continued to feed his passion for photography, having studied Art and Photography, through college and then the University of Derby’s School of Art & Design. Matthew graduated in 1996 having gained a 1st Class Honours degree in Fine Art Photography. In 2000 Matthew founded ‘Been There Done That’ Photo Library with Richard Hales, providing licensed images from their own collections and from other selected photographers from some of the world’s most inhospitable and least visited places. In 2004, Matthew, along with 2 other photographers, formed a Photographer’s Collective – ‘Intank Images’, with the aim of bringing affordable art, without compromising on quality or content, to the art buying public.

Matthew’s private photography consists primarily, but not exclusively, of landscapes – focusing on light, form, detail and texture to create dramatic and evocative images that invite the viewer to become immersed in the stories and scenes unfolding before them. Matthew is particularly interested in creating narratives through a series of images and through book-works.

Matthew is available for commissioned private and commercial work regardless of your needs, throughout the UK and world. If you would like to discuss your requirements or book him, please contact Matthew direct, and he will be happy to discuss your needs and provide a tailored quote.

Print Sales

All images available for sale are limited to signed editions of 50 each and are provided with a certificate of authenticity. If the images you desire are not available to purchase online, please contact Matthew direct we he will be happy to advise on availability, sizes and prices for your chosen photographs.

The prints are on heavyweight fibre based giclée paper and are guaranteed for archival stability, when kept in the correct conditions, for a minimum of 85 years. Prints are available in 3 different sizes, unless specified differently at the point of sale and are unframed, allowing you to choose the perfect frame for your home or office. Other sizes are available upon request. All images are signed and numbered by Matthew.

Caring for your Investment

All images are digitally printed using pigment inks and heavyweight fibre based papers, which have been tested for archival permanence by the Fine Art Trade Guild and have an archival life of at least 85 years in normal conditions. However, exposure to prolonged, direct sunlight will prematurely age the prints and therefore, we recommend you display them away from direct sunlight.

Exhibitions & Published Work

Matthew’s previous works include ‘Waterfront’ – a photography exhibition and book-work concerned with our public/private space, and ‘Rush Hour’ – a project focusing on those ‘lost’ hours sat in traffic whilst attempting to return home at the end of each day. He is currently working on a documentary project, following a farrier working in the racing stables and livery yards surrounding Lambourn, Berkshire.
